Is my image data sent to a server?
No — everything happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, which means 100% privacy and instant processing with no file size limits from server restrictions.
How many images can I convert at once?
There's no hard limit — you can batch-convert as many images as your browser can handle. For very large batches (50+), we recommend converting in groups to avoid slowing down your browser.
What does the Quality slider do?
The quality slider (1–100%) controls the compression level for JPG and WEBP outputs. Higher values mean better quality but larger file sizes. PNG and BMP are lossless, so the quality slider has no effect on them.
How does the Resize feature work?
Enter a target width or height in pixels. With "Lock ratio" enabled, the other dimension is calculated automatically to preserve the original aspect ratio. Leave both fields blank to keep the original dimensions.
Which format should I use for my website?
WEBP is the best choice for modern websites — it offers smaller files than JPG and PNG while maintaining excellent quality. For logos or images needing transparency, use PNG. For maximum compatibility with older browsers, use JPG.
Can I convert animated GIFs?
Only the first frame of an animated GIF will be converted, as the Canvas API works with static images. Converting to GIF output will also produce a static, non-animated image. Animated GIF support is on our roadmap.
